The Manhattan DA’s office laid assault and sexual harassment charges against Jonathan Majors following his arrest in New York City on Saturday night. The Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star shocked fans after a woman claimed that he put his hands on her. The accuser claims Majors struck “her about the face with an open hand, causing substantial pain and a laceration behind her ear” in the formal complaint. She added that he allegedly “put his hand on her neck, causing bruising and substantial pain.”

The charges against Jonathan Majors stemming from the alleged  “domestic dispute” includes: numerous counts of assault in the third degree, attempted assault in the third degree (3), aggravated harassment in the second degree (1), and harassment in the second degree (1). Since his arrest, his attorneys have stated that he’s completely innocent. The Creed III actor was later released by the DA’s office on his own recognizance. He was also provided with a limited order of protection. Paparazzi later caught Jonathan Majors leaving court with a "Freedom" hat. After the news emerged, his rep said, “He has done nothing wrong. We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up."

Shortly after police arrested Jonathan Majors, his defense attorney Priya Chaudhry issued a statement. Chaudhry said that she expects the charges will be dropped “imminently.” She added that Majors is “completely innocent and is probably the victim of an altercation with a woman he knows." Chaudhry added, “We are quickly gathering and presenting evidence to the District Attorney with the expectation that all charges will be dropped imminently.”

Though Majors hasn’t responded to the claims, Chaudhry added that they have obtained footage from the vehicle. Additionally, they also have testimony from witnesses, which they believe will exonerate Majors on all charges. “This evidence includes video footage from the vehicle where this episode took place, witness testimony from the driver and others who both saw and heard the episode, and most importantly, two written statements from the woman recanting these allegations,” Chaudhry added. We’ll keep you posted on anymore updates surrounding Jonathan Majors’ arrest.
