Bourne is back.

Pi'erre Bourne recently dropped his much-anticipated song, “Honeyberry 2.” The rapper previously produced work for top artists like Playboi Carti, 21 Savage, and Lil Yachty, so it’s no surprise that "Honeyberry 2" has a hard-hitting beat that makes the song instantly memorable. The song is a sequel to the iconic 2017 song, "Honeyberry," on which the rapper raps about chasing money instead of love.

Both the sequel and the original song explore similar topics. In the new song, the “Drunk And Nasty” rapper details a tumultuous relationship with a woman. With lyrics like “I'm on stage (Stage), she's outside (Side) /Come backstage (Stage), spend some time (Time)/ If I come back, I'ma hit your line (Line) / Duo Love, hit that b***h two times (Times)/Show me love, sendin' hearts all the time/Say she in love, but I know she lyin' (She).” The song also has lyrics that detail being unable to trust the woman in question, with other lyrics that say she may be cheating while she searches for signs of his infidelity. The song acts as both a solid stand-alone as well as a sequel.

The Long Awaited Sequel Is Here

Fans have been waiting for “Honeyberry 2” since the 2019 album, The Life of Pi'erre 4. There was a lot of hype around the original "Honeyberry," so it’s unsurprising that the sequel was received well. The song was expected to be an addition to Bourne’s latest album, The Life of Pi'erre 5, but wasn't to the disappointment of some fans.

The song fits the general theme of the album well while still showcasing Pi'erre’s versatility. The song’s outro speaks about the woman’s love being ancient, which adds an additional layer to the song. Other recent songs from Pi'erre, such as "IG," touch on the topic of unfaithful women, but it’s a testament to his artistry that all of the songs are distinct.

Quotable Lyrics:

Ain't perfect, yeah, but it's worth it
And my last one did me dirty
I can't trust a hoe, 'cause she gone leave me early
Man, these hoes is cold, pockets Big Shirley
