Following this New Music Friday (March 17), albums from Money Man, T-Pain, and the late Lil Keed have all been making waves. We also heard from GloRilla and Childish Gambino, as well as new singles from Tamar Braxton, Usher, and Diddy. A select few of these arrivals ended up on our weekly Fire Emoji playlist update, kicking off with "BALL LIKE ME TOO."
The song comes from EST Gee's new MAD project and finds him effortlessly rapping on the featureless track. Though he carried that one on his own, the 28-year-old did recruit friends like Young Scooter, Boosie Badazz, and Kada to help him out. They appear on titles like "SLAM DUNK," "HOTBOYS," and "KADAS SONG." Thus far, listeners are also loving "The ONE & ONLY" as well as "PRAY YOU DIE IN SURGERY."
HNHH Fire Emoji Update
Next up on our Fire Emoji update is the Phatnall Remix of GloRilla and Lil Durk's "Ex's," which the rising rap star surprised fans with yesterday. Her Anyways, Life's Great... EP arrived in late 2022, and she's since shared plenty of hot singles to remind listeners that she's coming in hot with her debut album down the road.
Following the sole female appearance of the weekend comes a posthumous song from Lil Keed's new album. "All I Wanna Know" is just one of the 20-track project's features from Young Thug, who was incarcerated shortly before the YSL rapper's untimely death last year. His other bars can be heard on "Big Bag," which also includes an appearance from Dolly White.
03 Greedo reminded the world that he's "Bacc Like [He] Never Left" on his most recent song. Skillibeng also came through with a solo track, which he catchily titled "Short Skirt." For those who prefer their songs sped up, the Jamaican artist also unleashed a faster version on DSPs.
Our final two Fire Emoji selections of the week are collaborative efforts. The first comes from JELEEL! and Armarni White, and is called "GNARLY!" – it's every bit as awesome as the name makes it sound. Secondly is JPEGMAGIA's "Lean Beef Patty," on which he teamed up with Danny Brown to make more music magic.
