While the back-and-forth between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor may never end, it appears there’s another high-profile boxer who is willing to step into the ring with the Irish UFC champion should the opportunity arise. Per a report from Edward Chaykovsky of Boxing Scene, Manny Pacquiao said he would be open to boxing Conor McGregor, “but not in [UFC].”
Pac-Man also weighed in on the Mayweather vs McGregor debate, saying that the Irishman wouldn’t have much of a chance against the undefeated Mayweather. As someone who’s faced off against Floyd Mayweather, he has about as much perspective on the possibility as anyone would.
The Philippines senator previously revealed via his promoter that he was planning at least three final fights in 2017, and it’s possible McGregor is one of those fights. Setting up a match between the two would be a lot simpler, since the main impediment between Mayweather and the UFC is the price tag of $100 million Mayweather has set. Pacquiao only took $4 million in guaranteed money for his recent win over Jessie Vargas, which is a far more reasonable number.
Would y’all watch a McGregor vs Pacquiao ticket, or is it Mayweather or bust?
