6LACK jumps on the remix to RITUAL's "Drown The Lovers" record.

Earlier this year, London group Ritual decided to cover a popular song from Atlanta singer 6LACK called “Loyal,” and now today 6LACK is repaying the favor for the look. Out of nowhere, the rising ATL artist decides to hop on the remix to RITUAL’s “Drown The Lovers” record off their February visual album No Escape Out Of Time.

We wrote “Drown The Lovers” as a kind of fantasy idea, to say "let's forget everything thats gone before, all the heartaches and trauma we've been through in past relationships and love like we've never hurt. There's a beauty and innocence in first love that you can never get back.”

Premiered Monday by Zane Lowe on Beats 1, the group chopped it up with Zane and had the following to say about the collab prior to its debut. “It’s almost a surreal moment when one of your favorite artists sends you over a verse like this — the way he’s gone so deep into the concept and written such a powerful verse, it’s something really special. From the opening line ‘As I sit and paint these pictures with my words’ we were blown away.”

“For me, he’s like the most exciting new artist that’s come out of America in the last year or so,” says Adam of the group. “We’re really honored and just excited to be working with him.”

With 6LACK leading things off with his respective verse, take a listen to the slow tempo ballad and let us know what you think. Record available on iTunes.

No Escape Out Of Time, the album, drops this Friday with guest appearances from 6LACK, Denzel Curry, and Kweku Collins. Pre-order that right now on iTunes if you haven’t done so already, and get the records “Real Feels,” “Better By Now” & “Wouldnt Be Love” to name a few.

Quotable Lyrics:

So as I sit and paint these pictures with my words
Your ex lover tryna talk, but he submerged
What's the purpose? Tell him it's absurd
You gon' feel that pressure 'til it's water in your vessels
Once that water pumps, they won't be able to jump
Once your ex is dumped, he won't be able to stunt
Love is like a pool, tell the others they can drown in it too
