After announcing an album titled DROGAS Wave earlier this year, Lupe Fiasco recently revealed to fans that the project will not be released in 2017 anymore as originally planned. "Promise broken. No more albums this year. Spread the word,” Lupe revealed a couple weeks ago. So to make up for the unfortunate news, the Chicago rapper announced he’s taking his talents on the road later this year for a couple shows. "I'll be doing a few concerts through the end of the year," he wrote on Twitter. "So I'll see some of y'all on the road.”
But before that goes down, Lupe decided to celebrate the fifth anniversary of his Food & Liquor 2 album on Monday by treating fans to a brand new song out of the blue called “Running From President,” which serves as his first release since’s May’s “Coulda Been.”
Bringing the title to life, Lupe hops on this Soundtrakk-produced beat and delivers a brief, lyrically stream-of-conscious record that finds him addressing Trump, Brexit, and the KKK in the process. “Flow is European Union, pizza like Brexit/ Was Restless, Me and chilling go together like Netflix,” Lupe effortlessly spits.
The timing of the record comes not only the 5-year anniversary of Food & Liquor 2, but more importantly just days after Trump riled up the nation after he called out the NFL and its players for protesting during the National Anthem. “Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a bitch off the field right now. Out! He’s fired. He’s fired!’” the President said Friday night in Alabama. “You know, some owner is going to do that. He’s going to say, ‘That guy that disrespects our flag, he’s fired.’ And that owner, they don’t know it but they’ll be the most popular person in this country.”
Released via Twitter Monday night, take a listen to Lupe's brief record and share your thoughts below.

White man made me
Born cold hearted like Ice man’s baby
I cant lately is what Ike chant daily
Warm so artists hope Iceland saves me
