It’s still Monday by a few minutes so you know what that means… a new R-Mean release is upon us. And since the Wu-Tang Clan just recently announced that the release of their new album Wu-Tang: The Saga Continues will feature an appearance by R-Mean himself on a song called "G'd Up" with Method Man, he figured its only right he pay homage to the legendary rap crew by hopping on a slew of classic Wu-Tang instrumentals for this week’s #MeanMonday series.
Over GZA's “4th Chamber,” Method Man's “Bring The Pain,” and Wu-Tang “Forever's Heaterz,” the “Armenian assasin” does what he does best, and that’s spit some serious bars, referencing RZA, Sway, Jay Elect, and more in the process. “That racism shit is detrimental/ I’m hip hop my heart beats is RZA instrumental/ My ventricles have 36 Chambers, veins built with cuban links chains” R-Mean spits.
For those keeping count, this week’s freestyle serves as the 39th #MeanMonday release, following up “R.M.E.A.N.” & “Real One” recently, and it’s pretty dope one to say the least.
Take a listen to the 3-minute lyrical onslaught and let us know what you think. You may need to give this a couple spins in order to catch all the lyrical wordplay, but that’s definitely not a bad thing. Look for more #MeanMonday releases to be on the way, including its forthcoming mixtape as well. Stay tuned.
In other related news, Wu-Tang Clan’s: The Sage Continues album drops October 13th, and can be pre-order now on iTunes. Those of you who take advantage of the early purchase will receive two new songs for free, including “People Say” with Redman and “Lesson Learn’d,” which dropped last Friday along with the project’s tracklist (see here).
Quotable Lyrics:
Im the 13th apostle turn street to gospel
72 virgins serve mean and brothel
Earth deep like fossils
Rooted in this game through word speak Picasso’s
Beautifully I paint this the 5th mean angle
Each verses got 16 sistine chapels
