Gucci Mane teases the return of "06 Gucci" for his upcoming single set to drop this Friday.

At one point in time, fans believed that Gucci Mane was a clone. Following his release from prison, he appeared in better shape than anyone’s ever seen. He lost the lean gut, went sober, and became completely chiseled. However, the transformation led many to believe that he might not be the real Gucci Mane. The conspiracy theories floated around the ‘gram while Wop egged them on for entertainment purposes. However, fans were overall happy to see Gucci Mane’s evolution, especially after his erratic behavior ahead of his incarceration.

Wop is a new man these days – a devout husband and father to his two children. However, every so often, the menacing aspect of his character pops out. As we’ve seen during his Verzuz against Jeezy, he didn’t fail to mention the death of Pookie Loc, who Gucci claimed to have murdered out of self-defense. Even though he’s admitted to regretting that part of the show, it seems as though he continues to wear that badge with pride.

‘06 Gucci Mane Is Back

Over the past two years, Gucci Mane hasn’t necessarily been as active in releasing music. Instead, he’s put his efforts into building the 1017 roster. He brought up artists like Pooh Shiesty and Foogiano, who’ve unfortunately been incarcerated, but not before they had the South on smash with their viral singles. Wop’s albums have also served to highlight the 1017 roster with So Icy Gang. Vol 1, and So Icy Christmas

However, Gucci Mane hit Instagram on Wednesday morning where he previewed a new single that finds him recreating some of his most iconic looks. “Friday 06 Gucci back,” he captioned the post with brief snippets of the song. “I feel like it’s me in ‘07, ‘08, and even ‘09,” he raps in one snippet. On the other, he subtly mentions Pookie Loc, rapping, “Still hard to kill/ The last n***a tried/ Go ask him, he didn’t survive.” He didn’t mention a title for the single but it appears that Gucci Mane might have a new project in the works for this summer. Check the snippet above and sound off with your thoughts in the comments.
