RZA says there are two biopics being filmed about the life of ODB, with one depicting him and ODB coming up as kids and eventually forming Wu-Tang.

Ol’Dirty Bastard, Dirt McGirt, whatever you want to call him, ODB left an indelible mark on hip hop as truly one of the most unique personalities ever in rap.  There was news that a biopic was in the works for the late Wu legend, and now RZA has revealed that there are actually two films being produced that will be about the life of Ol’Dirty Bastard.

In addition to “Dirty White Boy” starring Michael K. Williams which follows ODB in the last couple years of his life, another film “Dirt: One Word Could Change The World is in works and ODB’s family is more heavily involved in the latter.  Speaking to The Playlist, RZA gave some info about the projects, and he will be part of both, (via HHDX), “There’s two things going on with the ODB situation.  There’s "Dirty White Boy", which is about the manager of ODB, and his last two years. And there’s another one with a working title called, "Dirt: One Word Could Change The World",that his family is more involved with.” RZA adds that he wants to help out wherever he can, “I’m involved with both, anything about his life, I want to help out with any capacity. His mother told me I should come in and help.”

The Wu producer says he might be involved in scoring “Dirty White Boy”, and possibly even acting in it, but he is heavily involved in “Dirt” as it depicts him and ODB coming up as teenagers in NYC and getting into havoc.  RZA goes onto explain how the film will detail their youth and the genesis of Wu-Tang, ““Me and [ODB] ran through this city, man, cutting school, stealin’ pretzels from the hot dog stand, being vagabonds, sleeping on the trains, drinking '40s on the back of the A Train, rapping, getting chased by the police.” He adds, “It’s a coming of age story that me and him and a few of our cousins went through.  Then it goes on into finally becoming Wu-Tang, going through that hell. And then it takes on his side of it, not my side."

A movie about RZA and Ol’ Dirty Bastard coming up as kids in the streets of New York?  That’s about as enticing as it gets for any fans of the Wu.
