Female Chicago rapper Katie Got Bandz was reportedly arrested Monday for identity theft, according to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office (See below).
The 24-year-old rapper who’s real name is Kiara Johnson was given bail of $50,000, which she paid on Wednesday and ultimately freed her.
Katie took to Twitter Wednesday evening to let the world know she’s a free woman. “Bitch Im Free” she tweeted out.
For what it’s worth however, Sam Charles, a reporter for the Chicago Sun-Times, claims Katie was actually first booked back in June, but after allegedly missing some court dates, a judge issued a warrant for her arrest and kept her without bail. It was then reportedly reduced to $50,000, and she apparently bonded out Wednesday afternoon.
So all in all, she’s currently a free woman & can hopefully get back in the studio. The last we’ve heard from Katie was 2015’s Drillary Clinton 3 project, while her Katie Blanco project has still kept fans waiting.
Katie is due back in court on August 21st, when we’ll find out more information. Stay tuned.
