Rick Ross has been showing some love to fellow Miami rapper Bruno Mali recently. Rozay appeared on not one but two tracks on Mali's impressive MADE mixtape, and Mali even has MMG in his Twitter bio. It's unclear if the promising emcee is actually on his way to signing with the label, but it wouldn't be a huge surprise, as his thrilling street rap is not all that unlike previous signees like Meek Mill, Gunplay, and Fat Trel. Ross and Mali both appear on a new AudioMack release that remixes Total's 1995 single "Can't You See" with The Notorious B.I.G. This is not the first time Ross, a good friend of Diddy's has appeared alongside Biggie Smalls. In July, Diddy released “Bad Boy Watcha Gon’ Do? Dre Day” and “Watcha Gon’ Do,” two songs that featured both Ross and posthumous verses from B.I.G.
In 2012, Ross told Fuse about his Biggie fandom. “I was inspired by Notorious B.I.G. a lot,” he said. “Just his demeanor, the way he carried himself. He was just so laid back, he was just so authentic, not to mention he was the greatest emcee of all time.”
Ross released his 9th studio album Rather You Than Me earlier this year, but he has plans to release a follow-up before 2017 wraps up. "Obviously, that's album number 10. I wanna tie it into something else real soon," he told Complex. "There's a couple dates that we can do some things... this year."
You can listen to Bruno Mali's MADE Mixtape, which features guest appearances from both Ross and Ace Hood, here. It stands as one of the best and most underrated projects of the year so far. If he does officially sign with MMG, Mali should have a bright future ahead of him.
