Usually, Julia Fox commands attention due to her odd fashion choices or controversial commentary. Her fly-by-night romance with Kanye West was the talk of the world, and she's a socialite who jet-sets from one end of the globe to another, often at coveted runway shows. However, she's at the center of a scandal after reports stated her brother and father were arrested in New York. The public is shocked by the allegations.
According to ABC 7 News in New York, the police department's Ghost Gun Team made a huge recovery. If you're unfamiliar, "ghost guns" are illegal firearms or privately made kits (like a 3D printer) that create such weapons. These guns don't have any traceable markings, including serial numbers, making crimes challenging to investigate for authorities. In this raid, the actress's brother Christopher Fox and father, Samuel Fox, were detained. However, only the younger Fox was charged.
Police Find Guns, Drugs, & Paraphernalia
The investigation launched after someone gave the police an anonymous tip about suspicious packages. The raid proved to be lucrative after police found "found illegal guns, pills, a pill press, pressure cookers, fentanyl, chloroform, heroin, propane, formaldehyde, and materials often used to make explosives." In a previous interview, ABC 7 reported Julia Fox once described her brother as a "mad scientist" who makes 3D prints.
Christopher was charged with "criminal possession of controlled substance, manufacture of a machine gun, manufacture of a rapid fire modified device, manufacture of a dangerous instrument, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm and criminal possession of drug paraphilia." He reportedly doesn't have a prior criminal record. It is unclear when he will appear in court for his arraignment.
The NYPD Releases A Statement, Julia Fox Is Silent
Investigators also released a statement about the bust. "The NYPD will continue to fight relentlessly against illegal guns - against both the steady proliferation of traditionally-manufactured firearms and the increasingly prevalent numbers of illegal, untraceable but fully functioning weapons known as ghost guns." Further, Fox has yet to comment on her family's legal troubles.
