Adrian Peterson joined Stephen A Smith and Max Kellerman on today's taping of First Take, where AP revealed that he feels like he has a solid five years of football left in him. Whether or not those five years are with the Vikings remains to be seen.
The 31-year old Pro Bowl running back has spent his entire 10-year career in Minnesota but the Vikings have a team option on him for 2017 that includes a base salary of $11.75 million and a $6 million roster bonus. The Vikings will need to decide on Peterson's 2017 option by the start of the league year, and a restructured deal would have to be completed before the new league year begins March 9th.
Obviously, AP would like to go to a team that has a chance to contend for a Super Bowl, but specifically one that is built around a great coaching staff and a formidable defense.
When asked about a potential free agency scenario, Peterson rattled off three teams that came to mind including the New York Giants, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Houston Texans.
