Smooky Margielaa became someone most people started checking for when he made multiple appearances on A$AP Mob's newest release, Cozy Tapes Vol. 2 ("BYF," "Get the Bag," and "Bahamas"). It's since become clear that his ties with A$AP Mob extend beyond just a couple of features, although the exact extent of it isn't yet clear (meaning, is there an actual business or label deal involved). The thing that is crystal clear, though, is that A$AP Mob's head honcho Rocky believes in this 15-year old New York native and is on a mission to put him on.
When speaking about the Mob members respective solo albums recently, Rocky revealed that Smooky's debut is on the way, titled A Tribe Called Grape. Of course, A$AP Rocky also recently hopped on twitter to promise a new solo album of his own, combined with A$AP Ant, Nast and Key! all planning to release efforts, and the Mob has a busy year ahead of them.
While you wait for A Tribe Called Grape, Smooky is releasing songs on Soundcloud, the latest offering dropping last night and featuring production from fellow Soundcloud buzzing artist, 16 yr old. 16 yr old has been big in the Soundcloud community for a minute, but lately we've seen that trickle over onto streaming services (and the world at large), thanks to production credits with Desiigner, Ski Mask the Slump God and Smokepurpp, among others.
"Money Talk" is a light song, with Smooky's melodic, auto-tuned vocals floating over the airy production that's punctuated with bursts of drums. It follows up Smooky's "Hood," which, honestly, is a better song than "Money Talk"-- it's got sweeping piano keys and a catchy high-pitched flow that will pull you in. Give that one a listen while you're here, below, and let us know what you think. Which song do you prefer?

500 bands, I just got it for free
Old bitches wanna kick it with me
I remember days they was botherin' me
