Young RJ drops off new song "Motion" featuring Joyner Lucas & Statik Selektah.

Slim Village’s Young RJ is getting ready to release a new solo project next month called Blaq Royalty, but before it arrives RJ has another record to share with us ahead of time. Following up “Issues” with BJ The Chicago Kid, RJ decides to come through today and release another song called “Motion” featuring Joyner Lucas & Statik Selektah.

Going in over the Young RJ and Jay Dee aka J Dilla production, the Slum Village member delivers a motivational cut that finds him rapping about always keeping things moving forward, or in other words in “motion.” Highlighted by the lyrical wordplay & production, “Motion” is another strong addition to RJ’s growing catalogue of solo records, and all the more reason to look forward to his Blaq Royalty to arrive October 10.

“This joint was produced by Jay Dee a.k.a. J Dilla and myself with some additional help from Ice Pic.” RJ said referring to the late J Dilla, who was an original member of Slum Village before his death ten years ago. “I’d been sitting on this joint for a while and felt like now was the perfect time to release it. I selected Joyner for this song because he’s dope period, as a producer I always look at who will make the song better and felt like he does great, painting a picture in 16 bars. Statik always supported Slum Village and myself…plus I vibe with his music. Statik laid great cuts to bring it back to the one on the beat, scratching the wrong word can throw off the whole record.”

With additional vocals from Earlly Mac and Drey Skonie, take a listen to the new collab “Motion” and let us know what you think. If you’re a fan, be sure to show your support on iTunes.

Quotable Lyrics:

Im sorry Ms Jackson, this is from your half black son
I used to have mad mad girls
Now I only have one
Your daughter is a bad bad one
And all we did was have mad fun
I did aint shit nigga shit, now we have bad bad blood
