Jake Paul and Tommy Fury had a very interesting rivalry up until last weekend. As many of you already know, Paul had tried to fight Fury on numerous occasions. However, various factors made it impossible for the fight to actually take place. Firstly, Fury ducked the first fight due to a rib injury. Subsequently, various issues in terms of immigration made it so that Fury could not enter the United States. Finally, these two had their fight last weekend, and in the end, Tommy came out victorious.
Overall, this was a very close fight that saw Fury win by a split decision. One judge had Paul winning the fight, while Fury had the other two. Ultimately, this was all that he needed in order to get win. It was a huge victory for Fury, who needed to prove himself against Jake. There was this sense that Fury could not be taken seriously, but now that he has finally gotten past Paul, he can look ahead to bigger and better things. However, it just so happens that he may want to go up against Jake again, after all.
Jake Paul Vs. Fury
Mike Coppinger of ESPN is now reporting that Jake Paul and Tommy Fury are closing in on an agreement for a rematch. As it turns out, this rematch would take place in the month of July. This would give both fighters about four months' worth of preparation. Overall, this would be a huge redemption opportunity for Paul. However, this could be a risk for Fury who could set back his entire career with a loss to Jake. The storylines truly right themselves at this point.
For many boxing fans, these fights are simply not very interesting. Although, for others, this is a good gateway to get into boxing. As long as Paul can continue to attract big pay-per-view numbers, these fights are going to keep happening, regardless of Jake's record.
