Wiz Khalifa and Snoop Dogg are the modern-day Cheech and Chong. Since the success of Kush & Orange Juice, Snoop took the Pittsburgh rapper under his wing and watched him turn into an international superstar. However, they’ve also gone on tour together, released a joint project, and even co-starred in the cult classic, Mac & Devin Go To High School. Though they aren’t necessarily inseparable as they did 10 years ago, their chemistry is still unmatched as we’ve seen on numerous occasions.
Last year, Wiz Khalifa & Snoop Dogg reunited for the release of their NFT project, Ape Drops 03: An 8th, which became accessible to $APE holders. The project boasted a wide range of collaborators from Xzibit, Daz Dillinger, and more. Unfortunately, non-NFT enthusiasts weren’t able to skim through the project when it dropped, though Snoop and Wiz Khalifa evidently have more music in the stash. It seems as though the two rappers are gearing up to hold down the summer, once again, with their latest collab.
Wiz Khalifa & Snoop Dogg Are Still Smoking On "Don’t Text Don’t Call" ft. Snoop Dogg"
In the last month, Wiz Khalifa’s unloaded a number of singles, a sign that a new project is on the horizon. Today, the rapper kicked off March with a brand new single alongside Snoop Dogg titled, “Don’t Text Don’t Call.” With Ty Dolla $ign on the production, the two rappers channel the funk era on their new collaboration with smooth melodies that is geared towards the ladies.
The Pittsburgh native has certainly embraced the California influences in his recent releases. “Don’t Text Don’t Call” channels a psychedelic funk vibe that Snoop Dogg inherited from the legends that came before him. Ty’s production complements the Roger Troutman-influenced delivery from Wiz and Snoop is back on his pimp sh*t on the collab. Perhaps, this is the precursor to their upcoming sequel to Mac & Dev Go To High School. Check the new collab above.
Quotable Lyrics
See, I don't mean to be disrespectful
But if you come with some bullshit, I'ma check you
Straight, get you right, and if you don't, I left you
Sittin' in the dust, 'cause I never could trust 'em
