Ludacris is about to scare the hell out of you. The Hollywood Reporter reports that the rapper slash actor has just signed on for a reboot of Fear Factor, taking on both hosting and executive producer duties. The latter means that Luda will have creative control over the project, which bodes well for fans of his hilarious persona.
The reboot will follow the model pioneered by the original Joe Rogan hosted series, in which contestants put their physical and mental stamina to the test by partaking in high-stress challenges. While the original Fear Factor was infamous for its nasty-ass challenge (having to eat bull testicles, for example), the reboot will eliminate the gross-out competitions entirely, so nobody will have to worry about taking body shots off Luda's grotesque CGI abs. Instead, the challenges will target the fears of today's youth, seeking inspiration from modern day viral videos and urban legends.
MTV's Fear Factor is set to launch its twelve episode run on Tuesday, May 30, at 10 p.m.
