At the end of 2016, Pornhub revealed a bunch of data about the world’s porn watching habits. Among that information dump was the fact that people from the Philippines spend longer on Pornhub (12 minutes and 45 seconds to be exact) than any other country. Sure, some of that may be due to less than ideal internet speeds, but it’s still an impressive feat.
However, the country’s government is not a fan of Philippinos' illicit habits, and they have enacted a countrywide porn bad across the internet. According to a report from CNN, many people in the island country were shocked to find a warning message when they tried to visit their favorite porn site this week and were met with a message that said the site “has been ordered blocked under authority of the Philippine government.”
The blocked sites are a who’s who of major porn providers, from Pornhub to Redtube and Xvideos. Pornhub’s vice president Corey Price called the new law “disappointing” in a statement to The Daily Mail.
The government claims the ban is part of an effort to fight child pornography, despite the fact that the sites are already policed for child porn by international law. Most citizens are understandably not a fan of the new law. Trump would never do anything like this, right?
