Blu & Exile drop "Constellations" off of their upcoming "Before the Heavens" project.

It's hard to believe that it's been ten years since Blu & Exile dropped their debut album, Below The Heavens. While the underground duo have been working hard, the last project we received from them was five years a go. The two have then went on, continuing to push their other musical obligations. The want from another album from the duo has been real among their fans but today they announce that they'll be releasing a prequel project to their debut album entitled In the Beginning: Before the Heavens. Along with the announcement, the two unveil the first single off the project "Constellations."

"Constellations" keeps in tune with what we've grown to appreciate from the duo. Blu's voice cuts through the beat as he raps about reaching for star status. Despite that, he still maintains his signature underground, non-conformative attitude with him before a soulful voice comes in for the hook dropping some uplifting lyrics. As expected, Exile does a phenomenal job with the production on this joint bringing feels of hip hop's golden era with his sampling. This song, along with the entirety of In The Beginning: Before the Heavens, have the duo keeping the project completely raw and untouched, keeping the true essence of their creativity at the time.

"Constellations" highlights some of Blu & Exile's finer work during the inception of Below The Heavens. The new project, which features this song, will be filled with previously heard and unreleased tracks from the Below The Heavens studio sessions. Out of 40 or so unreleased cuts, the duo will be picking their best 15 for the project. For anyone waiting for some new Blu & Exile, today is your day. While the project is currently due for October 20th, the duo are currently on tour to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of their debut project together.

Quotable Lyrics
Whatever Blu laces
Reminds you of the West
Like Chucks with blue laces
The old or new lakers
