Kevin Durant had to give Rui Hachimura his proper respect.

Kevin Durant is someone who has had to go toe-to-toe with the oldheads throughout the NBA world. Overall, the oldheads haven't always been kind to him. With guys like Shaq and Charles Barkley referring to him as a "bus rider," he's never been too fond of them. Additionally, it does not help that some of the new players get completely dismissed by guys such as Shaq. Over the years, O'Neal has been downright disrespectful to certain players, and KD has watched that play out in real-time.

Most recently, Shaq had some interesting comments about Rui Hachimura. After being traded to the Lakers, Shaq claimed that he had no idea who Hachimura was. Moreover, Barkley went a bit too far and called Hachimura "HoochieMama" which is simply ridiculous. Following these comments, fans were pretty upset with Shaq and Chuck. They feel as though it is unacceptable for two men who get paid to talk basketball to not know about common players in the league. At the end of the day, it just makes them look like casuals who don't know what they're talking about.

Kevin Durant Reacts

Since then, Shaq has apologized to Hachimura. “Let me apologize to Rudy Hachimura," Shaq said. "I didn’t know who he was because I never watch the bull play, but he’s a fine role-player… So Rudy Hachimura I apologize I didn’t know who you were, I know you are now and I wish you well." As you can see, Shaq didn't even bother to get his name right as he called the man "Rudy." This prompted a reaction from Kevin Durant who simply took to Twitter and write "Rui." Simply put, KD wanted Hachimura to get his proper recognition.

Hopefully, Shaq and Chuck will stop pulling this stuff. It is starting to get tiresome, and we're sure the younger players hate it. Coming across as a bitter oldhead isn't fun, and we just want proper coverage of the players in the league today. You shouldn't have to be a top 10 player just to get your proper due. Let us know what you think about all this, in the comments below.
