It's been an undeniably exciting week for many hip-hop fans, thanks to Tony Yayo's triumphant return. The G-Unit artist has finally delivered The Loyal mixtape, marking his first full-length release since 2017's Long Time Coming. On that, he delivered 11 solo titles, but for his latest endeavour, the rapper recruited an impressive roster of collaborators.
Ahead of the project's arrival, he previously dropped "Rocket Chamber" in tandem with life-long friend Lloyd Banks. For his other single, the 44-year-old shared "Clown You When You're Down" a few weeks back, taking a trip up north to Canada to film the accompanying music video.
As for other guest features on The Loyal mixtape, we hear from Pressa on "Kill Switch" and Tydag on "Bag Mover." Further down on the tracklist, Nems helps Yayo out on "Savage Era." Upon the project's arrival, the New Yorker also unveiled the visual for "Banksy Painting," which is quickly emerging as a fan favourite.
Tony's debut LP, Thoughts of a Predicate Felon made its debut nearly two decades ago, as REVOLT notes. At the time it was considered a success and found the rap legend working with the likes of 50 Cent and Eminem. Since then, his most noteworthy releases include 2013's Godfather Of The Ghetto and 2009's Public Enemies.
That same year, he teamed up with DJ Drama for Gangsta Paradise: Gangsta Grillz. Over the years, the "Throwing Money" spitter has built an impressive discography for himself, and it appears to only be getting stronger thanks to his latest mixtape.
