R-Mean has been hitting us with fire every Monday. It's pretty much one of the few good things associated with Monday's at this point. Last week, he dropped the epic joint, "Family." This week, he hits us with a cut that didn't make his Nas & Em project featuring some pretty heavy bars over Nas' "It Ain't Hard To Tell."
For week 37 of R-Mean's "Mean Monday" series, he hits us with one of the most impressive joints he has dropped in the past month. R-Mean tackles Nas' classic to break down each letter in his name. It's another fire joint from the rapper. Often times, it's hard to do justice to a classic beat, especially when it's off of a quintessential hip hop album, however R-Mean's flow and bars completely bodies the instrumental. R-Mean dives straight into the beat off top, only taking a break during the hook where it cuts into a sample of Jay-Z's opening line on "Public Service Announcement."
While it serves as a left-over off his 2016 mixtape, this track could've definitely fit in perfectly onto the tape. R-Mean continuously proves that he's an incredible rappers out and has done so consistently over the course of his "Mean Monday's" series. The song also comes at an appropriate time considering that Nas will be celebrating his 44th birthday this Thursday. In addition to this week's "Mean Monday" release, he's also set to drop a video on Nas' birthday for the Nas & Em closing track, "Letter To The King."
While 2017 inches closer to an end, it also means that sadly R-Mean's "Mean Monday" series will also be ending but, we're hoping to get a project from him at the top of 2018 hopefully. Nonetheless, we have a little less than four months left to enjoy more of the loose singles that R-Mean will be throwing in our direction.
