Production duo, Beatnick and K-Salaam have been a solid force in underground hip hop for quite some time now. The two of them, originally from Twin Cities, Minnesota, have been doing their thing for quite some time now. While K-Salaam used to DJ as part of Slug's Rhymesayers label, after linking up with Beatnick, the two moved to New York City where they began making their mark. Over the past few years, they've teamed up and produced for some heavy hitting artists like Bun B, Nas, Yasiin Bey, Sizzla and many more. While they've had a few delays, they are gearing up to release their forthcoming album The Bluest Flame. With that, they release their new single off the project, "Fight Night" featuring Talib Kweli and Blu.
Over some smooth strings and kicking drums, Talib Kweli kicks the song off by dropping some serious bars of him reinforcing his iconic status in the game before Blu comes in to absolutely demolish his part. For anyone looking for some real hip hop, this is for you. Both Blu and Talib Kweli come through with some incredible bars, as you could expect. It's solid proof that both K-Salaam and Beatnick are not only incredible with their production but they also have an incredible ear for the rappers they choose to get on their beats.
Following the release of "Movin' It" with Tech N9ne and Wreckonize, as well as the Joell Ortiz assisted "Never Follow," this song serves as the third single off the project. The duo have gotten some of the finest rappers in the game to help them on this project including Bun B, Kirk Knight, Fashawn and many more.
It's looking like it's going to be quite the promising project. It'll be available for streaming and purchase on October 13th. Keep your eyes and ears peeled.
