Damar Hamlin became one of the biggest stories in the entire sports world back in January. This was after a devastating hit that stopped Hamlin's heart on the field. Subsequently, the medical staff had to act fast. Overall, they did just that as they gave him 10 minutes of CPR before taking him to the hospital. Hamlin was eventually put into a coma where doctors were able to perform tests. Eventually, he made a miraculous recovery that stunned NFL fans. Now, Hamlin is a symbol of hope for so many. Furthermore, he is a demonstration of just how talented our medical professionals truly are.
On Thursday night, Hamlin was in Arizona for all of the Super Bowl festivities. During the week, the NFL typically hosts its NFL Honors event, which hands out all of the year's awards. Consequently, some of the biggest stars in the league are present. Moreover, there are always some special guests. By now, you can probably guess where this is going. Damar Hamlin ended up being invited out, and he even gave an amazing speech.
Damar Hamlin Gets Standing Ovation
"Every day I am amazed that my experiences could encourage so many others across the country and across the world," Hamlin said. "Encourage to pray, encourage to spread love, and encourage keep fighting no matter the circumstances. Sudden cardiac arrest was nothing I would have ever chosen to have been a part of my story, but that’s because sometimes our own visions are too small even when we think we’re seeing a bigger picture. My vision was about playing in the NFL and being the best player I could be. But God’s plan was to have a purpose greater than any game in this world."
Moving forward, Hamlin has been told that he will be able to play football again. However, as it stands, Hamlin has yet to express any interest in doing so. For now, he is simply taking it one day at a time. This is a pretty good way of going about things, as he has gone through a very traumatic incident. Hopefully, he continues to recover on his terms. Let us know what you thought of the speech, in the comments below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the sports world.
