After teaming up for the ten-minute musical odyssey "Pillow Talking," Lil Dicky has once again reunited with his brain. In what might be the most bizarre alter-ego hip-hop has ever seen, Lil Dicky has taken Brain to the next level, giving the animated, auto-tune laden creature his own Soundcloud page and teasing an up-coming EP. While the whole thing might seem a little strange, many felt that Brain's contributions to "Pillow Talking" were a highlight, and clamored for some more fire from the lyrical organ. Now, the duo have teamed up for a brand new track called "Could I Be Jesus."
While Brain's contributions tend to lean toward the side of comedy, the track marks L.D's first new joint in a minute. Over a banging instrumental, the Professional Rapper goes back and forth with himself, delivering that signature blend of hilarious wit and capable flow that secured him a loyal fanbase of "Dickheads." Dicky goes in at one point, dropping a double entendre that would make Jay-Z proud - "I got the coldest cuts like a deli I, used to in love with Aaliyah, used to be in love with Daria, shit on these rappers like diarrhea." While the track remains a loosie, it proves that Dicky's flow is still on point, and he continues to straddle the line between comedy and hip-hop with charismatic finesse.
While the whole Brain EP might be a bridge too far, at least fans can take solace in the fact that Lil Dicky is keeping the creativity alive. There's still no word on when the followup to Professional Rapper might drop, but perhaps this return to the game means it's coming sooner than later. In the mean time, Dicky is apparently working on a television series, about which we know next to nothing.
Quotable Lyrics
Ain't nobody in my category
I'm a vet, I'm with it like it's Scattergories
I was over-doubted, now I'm overcrowded
But I'm extroverted, don't you ever doubt it
Gotta lot of money, but I never count it
Competition fun, but they ain't never 'bout it
