Although 2017 is the 20th anniversary of the Nike Air Max 97, Nike has yet to make a real effort to commemorate the occasion.
Sure, there was the limited edition "Silver Bullet" Air Max 97 release (which is dropping again this week) but other than that it doesn't appear as though Nike is honoring the AM97 in the same fashion they did the Air Max 95 a few years back.
The good news is, Nike does have plans to retro the "Metallic Gold" Air Max 97 and they'll be hitting retailers sooner than later. According to SneakerNews, the golden Air Max 97 will be arriving on April 20th in both men's and grade school sizes.
Hopefully this marks the start of more classic Air Max 97 retros as the year rolls on.
