On the red carpet at the 59th annual Grammy Awards, Lil Yachty told Billboard that he plans on following in the footsteps of some of his more popular forebears and become an actor. He said shooting the video for the cover of "It Takes Two" with Carly Rae Jepsen confirmed his ambitions.
"I'm trying to get into acting so to be on a Hollywood set and see how everything works [...] was educating to me," the 19-year-old said. When asked what his dream role would be he said, "Maybe like a thug or something."
The video for "It Takes Two" was inspired by golden age Hollywood musicals, which often included a complex choreography, kaleidoscopic imagery and many showgirls working in sync.
Yachty is currently working on his new album Teenage Emotions. He received a nomination for Best Rap/Sung Performance for his work on D.R.A.M.'s "Broccoli." He goes on tour in Europe at the end of the month. Check out the video below for the full interview. Who knows, Yachty could be the next Fresh Prince.
