Yelawolf returned from his musical hiatus back in June when he dropped off the new single "Row Your Boat” & announced a new comeback album called Trial By Fire.
“I took some much needed time for myself and I feel better than ever. My apologies to the fans for my absence ... and thank you for your continued support .. it means the world to me !! The new albums my favorite work yet and I hope you dig the new single,” Yelawolf shared earlier this Summer.
While having been relatively quiet ever since his resurgence, Yelawolf decided to change all that Friday morning by releasing his third single off the forthcoming album called “Punk,” featuring Juicy J & Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker.
Taking a more country-rock approach with this one, Yelawolf hops on this drum-heavy production from Travis Barker and DJ Klever and delivers his double-time rhyme scheme, rapping about Southern lifestyle in the process. Highlighted by its rock-infused production & rapid-fire delivery & flow, “Punk” is another strong addition to Yelawolf’s steady growing catalogue of hits. If you’re fan of the Alabama artist, then there’s a good chance you’ll appreciate this one.
Hit play & let us know what you think. (You may need a couple listens to catch all the rapid fire lyrics & slick entendres)
Quotable Lyrics:
I'm Psycho White—oh no
I'm a chili pepper in an Oldsmobile
Comin' out for the kill
I don't gamble
I don't deal with these whose whose in this mass appeal
I just wanna be behind a steering wheel of a semi-truck
Then get drunk and run amuck
With every single one of my misfits
Bitch, that's how we're showin' up
With them lowriders on the west side
Lift kits from the south
Jump in the passenger seat of my '69 and hit the bootleg house
I'm on my new shit, still ready and ruthless
A public nuisance
But I feel right at home
