You may not be too familiar with the name DJDS (DJ Dodger Stadium) just quite yet, but there’s a good chance you’ve heard their work. The LA production duo has most notably worked with Kanye West, having contributed to singles like “Ultralight Beam” and “Father Stretch My Hands, Pt. 1” to name a couple. The Kanye West co-sign gives the duo an immediate stamp of credibility, and has left fans anticipating what the duo has next up their sleeves. Kicking off the Summer with a single called “Trees On Fire,” the LA production duo decided to return to the scene Tuesday & release a new single with rising R&B singer Khalid & Empress Of called “Why Don’t You Come On,” which was premiered by Zane Lowe on Beats 1 Radio via Apple Music.
The uptempo, dance-friendly record finds Khalid singing effortlessly over the EDM-infused production. Highlighted by its catchy melodies & infectious production, “Why Don't You Come On” is a strong addition to DJDS’s catalogue of records, and should definitely help them get their name out there even more now. This serves as another great look for the Texas crooner, Khalid, as well, who is flying high off winning the MTV VMA for “Best New Artist” Sunday night.
"We started it with Empress Of and she really put her mark on it," DJDS told Zane Lowe on Beats 1 this morning. "She wrote a lot of the lyrics and really did her thing. We were looking for the right voice to accompany her on this and we happened to be working with Khalid at the time on his record. We showed it to him and he loved it and wanted to do it right away. When we heard them together, we knew it was the right pair."

Quotable Lyrics:
Ill be your light after midnight, we’re brighter together
Ill be your eyes if you lose sight, we see better together
Ill be your silver lining, when your head is clouded
Ill be the only one you see, when the room is crowded
