Miley Cyrus gets called out for dissing hip-hop for having vulgar lyrics.

In her new Billboard cover story, Miley Cyrus made remarks about hip-hop -- a genre she's dabbled in before -- that have stirred up strong reactions on social media.

Preparing to release her new single, "Malibu," Miley told Billboard that her new music will be folksier and more country-influenced than her last album, 2013's Bangerz, which was executive produced by Mike Will Made-It (whom she was also rumored to be dating).

During the interview, Miley noted that she finds the sex-positive lyrics on Kendrick Lamar's new single, "Humble," to be a refreshing turn away from the vulgar, perhaps misogynistic, lyrics that she thinks characterizes modern-day hip-hop. She told Billboard:

But I also love that new Kendrick [Lamar] song [“Humble”]: "Show me somethin’ natural like ass with some stretch marks.” I love that because it’s not “Come sit on my dick, suck on my cock.” I can’t listen to that anymore. That’s what pushed me out of the hip-hop scene a little. It was too much “Lamborghini, got my Rolex, got a girl on my cock” -- I am so not that.

Some Twitter users have responded negatively to Miley's comments about hip-hop, as they feel that she shouldn't be able to criticize the genre after she used -- and perhaps appropriated -- it in such an obvious way during an important time in her lucrative career.
