The ever-aloof Jaden Smith, son of the great Will Smith, went on Instagram live recently while he was parked outside of the DMV. In the since-deleted recording, he speaks of wanting to leave L.A. in order to find "happiness." He also recently tweeted about his desire to leave his hometown, which he called "The City of Death and Decay." "It's gonna be so funny to tell my dad that I failed straight up," he said on Instagram live.
Many have reacted to Smith's strange ramblings, worrying about Jaden's mental health and the pressures placed upon him by his famous father. However, Jaden's latest meltdown isn't really out of character for the 18-year-old free spirit, and with regard to failing his father, he may just be speaking about his driver's test. Though his father was nowhere to be found when he went live on Instagram, Jaden tweeted, "I'm At My Drivers Test And My Dad Is Distracting Me." Perhaps Will's shadow looms over the entire city of L.A., thus explaining Jaden's desire to escape.

"Be the you that you want to be," said Jaden. "I'm about to move out of L.A. It's a lot of bad stuff here."
He went on to speak on the challenges facing today's youth, explaining, "it’s hard these days to really create the life you want for yourself because there’s nobody here that supports the youth or the youth creativity."
He then goes on to question the very platform he's speaking from. "Why aren't scientists Instagram live-ing?" he asks. "Why aren't people Instagram live-ing to cure cancer right now? Why aren't we Instagram live-ing about peace right now. This makes no sense. Nothing about this life makes any sense."
On a more upbeat note, he promises that he's planning "dope inspirational stuff that's beyond just music and clothes" for later on in 2017.
