Despite the daily haters ragging on his music, Lil Yachty stays winning. After recently scoring the cover of the New York Times Style Section, Lil Yachty is back at the forefront of the high fashion movement. It's been reported that the Georgia rapper is one of the faces of Wang’s 2017 "Beyond Reality" campaign. Here's what Wang had to say about "Beyond Reality":
“It’s about observing and toying with our society’s current obsession with social media ... We wanted to propose both real and fabricated narratives in order to create doubt, whether what you see is real or not, or maybe even something in between. The original spark came from scrolling through my own feed; that feeling that makes you stop or second-guess something. I embrace this obsession just as much as anyone else. The fact that the campaign is only released through social media, but is also a commentary on it, blurs the line even more.”
Yachty's presence in the new Alexander Wang campaign comes a few months after the introduction of #WANGSQUAD, featuring the likes of Vince Staples, Tyga, A$AP Ferg, and Metro Boomin. High fashion and hip-hop have reached their peak collision. Check out the photos of Yachty from "Beyond Reality" in the gallery above.
