Kevin Love will be rocking a special Nike Hyperdunk PE in Game 1 of the NBA Finals tonight, featuring his own "KL" logo on the tongue which includes imagery of a tree that looks a lot like a nod to his former team, the Minnesota Timberwolves.
However, the Douglas Fir that separates the K and the L is actually a reference to his family and strong foundation growing up in Oregon.
“Kevin wanted the mark to embody a few things—he wanted something that suggested his style of play as a high energy two-way player, his family and strong foundation growing up in Oregon (hence the iconic Douglas Fir), and finally, he wanted it to be bold, recognizable and timeless," said Nike Basketball Brand Design Senior Designer Darien Birks.
In addition to this special edition Nike Hyperdunk that'll be on the feet of Love, Draymond Green will be debuting the Nike React Hyperdunk Flyknit during the NBA Finals, which you can check out in detail here.
