The Baton Rouge rap scene has taken another huge blow. A month ago, Kevin Gates received a six-month sentence for assaulting a fan in Florida in Summer 2015. It has now been reported that 17-year-old NBA YoungBoy, the hottest new talent in the Louisiana capital, has been arrested for an undisclosed felony charge, reports XXL. The arrest took place on early Monday morning (Nov. 28) at a venue in Austin, TX, where YoungBoy had been booked to perform. One can see footage of police raiding the venue in the below Instagram video.
The official felony charge facing YoungBoy, whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden, is reportedly "on hold" from another agency. It thus seems that Texas police arrested YoungBoy due to a warrant from another state, and it is likely that he could be extradited to said state in the near future.
YoungBoy has two buzzing tapes out right now: .38 Baby, released at the end of last month, and Mind of a Menace 3, which arrived just over a week later.
