In 2017, Che Ecru has released both the Cardo-produced project Che Got Wings and the Soulection-released buries (which collected self-produced tracks along with the aforementioned Cardo project). Off of that material alone, you should already be up on the Boston-based singer-producer, but for those who are still sleeping, he's offered up an intoxicating new single in "Good." The melting bass-driven beat comes from Che himself and is occasionally interjected by vibrant synth tones and textured string samples. However, it's really centered around Che's impressive and versatile voice, which umps from delicate R&B runs to rhythmic rap-influenced flows in the last minute. As he mentions on the track, Sade is an artist he's been listening to, and by the sounds of it, it's one of many disparate influences he's brought into his music.
The release follows Che's explosive July single "Typical," one of his most dynamic tracks that, like much of his material, is full of ideas that pull it in different directions. It's an aspect of Ecru's music that has continued to set him apart from his peers. Pair that with a truly powerful voice and the singer seems poised to gain some major attention in the near future.
While he could release yet another project at any point, Che is making a point of being discerning in the music he chooses to share "I have enough songs for multiple albums right now, but I'm very picky on what I want to give,” he told Complex of his recent output. "Gotta keep my consistency unless there is a better reason to not, and switch things up for a moment." So whether or not we hear from him next month or next year, trust you're getting only the best from the rising singer.

I've been thinking about you different
'Cause we listening to Sade
At your momma house
She ain't kick me out
Shea ain't want me out
And you tell me is that word of mouth
