Iamsu takes on Tay K's hit record "The Race."

If you’re unfamiliar, Tay K is a 17-year old rapper from Dallas who exploded onto the music scene this Summer with his hit record “The Race,” which follows his time running from the law. Back in June, Tay K was arrested & locked up after he cut off his ankle monitor and fled the state of Texas to New Jersey, where he was eventually captured. Currently locked up on murder charges stemming from a couple years back, Tay K hasn't been able to reap the rewards of his success, but has definitely seen his fair share of support from fellow artists.

Rappers like Meek Mill, Desiigner, Kodak Black and Travis Scott have all supported the song’s word-of-mouth rise on Twitter and Instagram, and we’ve even seen remixes from Lil YAchty, Trill Sammy & XXXTentacion to name a few, but there’s still more where that came from. A couple days ago, West Coast rapper Iamsu decided to join the wave & take on the S. Diesel-produced hit.

Giving Tay a shout-out, Suzy delivers a 2-minute lyrical exercise that finds him showing off his double time rhymes scheme & various flows, proving once again that the boy got bars. It's unclear at the moment if this will see life on his upcoming mixtape or just something to hold us over in the meantime, but we're definitely all for this.

Following up this week's release "I Be," take a listen & let us know what you think. If you happen to be in the Bay Area come early September, be sure to check out Iamsu at his third annual “IAmSummer” concert.

Quotable Lyrics:

Cant no rapper set no trend for me Im way too focused
Got that hocus locus, she from Nova Scotia
I put you on so I could put you off with no commotion
It’s HBK we in the house because the door was open
