A few weeks a go, it was announced that the enigma that is MF Doom would be releasing a new song every week for fifteen weeks via Adult Swim. For anyone who is a fan of MF Doom, you know how much of a treat it is. While he stays relatively low-key for the most part, the times he pops up and blesses us with new music is always something to celebrate. MF Doom is not only an exceptional MC but has also proved himself a solid producer as well. However, with this week's release he taps into another underground legend for assistance on the production. With the release "Negus" featuring Sean Price two weeks a go and announcing a KMD project as well as dropping "True Lightyears" by featuring Jay Electronica last week, he returns this week with the Alchemist produced "DOOMSDAY."
MF Doom and Alchemist prove to be a solid duo together. MF Doom's muffled flow is complimented quite well with the lo-fi, spaced out production of Alchemist. It's another solid track that Adult Swim got for their 15 week stretch of MF Doom drops. MF Doom and Alchemist both have relatively similar styles in the way they produce so this song off-top is a great fit for the two artists. Hopefully this collaboration might spawn into something much bigger than a single. Both Alchemist and MF Doom have been staples in the underground for many years and they've paved a lane that has not only helped with their lengthy careers but has also influenced a generation younger than themselves.
With the each week of releases being a surprise from the actual music to the features, it's uncertain to say what else MF Doom has up his sleeve this week. While he still has 12 more weeks of drops through Adult Swim, it's safe to say that he'll definitely have more surprises up his sleeve.
Quotable Lyrics
I can neither confirm nor deny
On account of the sherm all high
Villain make 'em squirm 'til her perm all dry
Sperm to her eye, to a worm to a fly
