If you haven’t realized it by now, the A$AP mob have been taking over the entire month of August. Before they hit us with their upcoming Cozy Tapes Vol 2 next Friday, A$AP Twelve kicked things off earlier this month by releasing his long awaited debut album 12, which featured appearances from A$AP Rocky, Ferg, & more, and now next up is ASAP Ferg, who’s highly anticipated Still Striving project was released today on streaming platforms.
Laced with 14 tracks in total, the follow up to last year’s sophomore album Always Strive & Prosper features a star-studded line up of guest appearances, including Meek Mill, ASAP Rocky, Migos, French Montana, Rick Ross, Dave East, Nav, Playboi Carti, Lil Yachty, Snoop Dogg, Famous Dex & more. Meanwhile production is handled by the likes of Malay Raw, Frankie P, DJ Khalil, & Kirk Knight among others.
“This time around I wanted a real contemporary feel, so much so that I think it’s experimental in a way.” Ferg said about the album’s vibe. That’s what I really wanted though. I changed my flows and verses and things like that, but there’s 808s and drums that hit. I wanted a reason to go out to the club again; a reason to turn up in the car. I don’t have anymore of the trials and tribulations that I put on my last album so it’s more so stories of what’s happening in my life today."
Having already heard records like “Aww Yeah,” “East Coast Remix” & “Tango,” we’ve decided to go ahead & highlight another one of the early standouts off the album called “Trap And A Dream” featuring MMG rapper Meek Mill. Take a listen to the Frankie P-produced intro & let us know what you think.
Quotable Lyrics:
Trap and a dream, trap and a dream
I had a trap and a dream, trap and a dream
One trap and a dream, trap and a dream
I wanna make a hundred million when I hit the scene
Trap and a dream, trap and a dream
I had a trap and a dream, trap and a dream
One trap and a dream, trap and a dream
I wanna make a hundred million when I hit the scene
