Jaden Smith has been on a roll this summer. In June he dropped his video for "Batman" and then a month later, he dropped the single and video for "Watch Me" only weeks apart. In between the time of those two releases, news broke that his collective, MSFTSrep, seemed to have inked a partnership deal with Roc Nation. While his sister already had dealings with Hov's label and is part of the collective, this just happens to put on for everyone else involved. So with all of that going on, Jaden Smith has definitely been working on his music and his collective. Today, he happened to grace the world with another song "Diamonds V1" via Apple Music.
"Diamonds V1" was produced by Ian Frequency. Jaden Smith finds himself diving further and further into melodies and this song has him going deeper. He experiments with the ranges in his voices and the tones that he uses. He really creates an atmosphere with this song. For the 3 and a half minute duration, you find yourself in a trance by the production. The beat itself paints the picture and draws the outline, where as Jaden contributions help color it in. While it is a relatively soft song, the bass thumps hard and Jaden adds some ad-libs that gives the song some much needed texture to brighten the song up as a whole.
It's a solid effort from Jaden Smith. While he's been dropping loosies throughout the summer, it could be a very good indication that he has something up his sleeve. Especially with the Roc Nation partnership.
The Smith family is essentially Hollywood royalty at this point so as Will and Jada already having so much impact in the entertainment world, it should be interesting to see what Willow and Jaden's next moves are.
