It’s not everyday we get a new song from R&B singer James Fauntleroy, but when we do its usually worth the wait, and that’s exactly what we have here today. After hitting us with tracks like “The Sixth Sense” in May & “Crying Upside Down” back in June, the crooner decides to return from his hiatus today & share a new offering called “Smoking.”
“World on fire. Global warming for real,” James shared along with the song, and it’s artwork depicts that very message. Directed by “someone who loves you,” aka James Fauntleroy, “Smoking” is a laid back, alternative-rock infused ballad that finds him crooning about “smoking” & getting high. Highlighted by James’ soft vocals & its groovy production, this record is just the latest of what hopefully is more to come.
Running only 2-minute long however, take a listen to the brief, yet sultry James Fauntleroy release & share your thoughts on it (below). When you’re done, be sure to revisit his latest 6-track EP, Dojo, which dropped back in February right here. As for what's next from James, that remains to be unseen like usual with him, but hopefully a project is in the works. Stay tuned.
Quotable Lyrics:
Cause its summer but look like Fall
All of these clouds but no rain at all
Don't hold it in
Let it go baby girl
