With exception to his “Pressure” record back in May, Chicago rapper Alex Wiley has been relatively quiet since he last dropped off Village Party 3 mixtape back in January, but thankfully that changes here today. With no warning at all, the Chicago spitter decides to return to the scene today & share a new song called “Visions.”
Over production from Mike Gao, Alex delivers a bass-heavy record that’s driven by its spacey production and not so much his lyrical wordplay like we’re accustomed to from Alex. It’s unclear at the moment on where the record will end up, but apparently Alex has plenty of new music in the vaults. Just last month, Alex tweeted out that had enough music to drop a song a week for a really long time, which he plans on doing. So while we wait for more music from the Chicago spitter, check out his latest offering “Visions” now and let us know what you think. (Single available on iTunes)
While you’re at it, be sure to revisit his latest mixtape Village Party 3 featuring guest appearances from Kembe X, Mick Jenkins, Jay Prince, Jean Deaux, Phoelix, Losco, and Hippie Sabotage to hold you over in the meantime.
Quotable Lyrics:
I can see your vision
Only with you
I can see your vision
Only with you
