"Magnolia" producer Pi'erre Bourne continues to put in work, expanding his sound and experimenting with new genres. The producer known for his potentially iconic tag "Yo Pi'erre, you wanna come out here?" has stepped out from beyond the boards to deliver a summery acoustic banger called "Mad."
Thematically, Pi'erre seems focused on one of life's most pressing questions. Why is everyone always so mad? Can the man live? On "Mad," Pi'erre blows the dust off his acoustic guitar and comes through with a summery chord progression, reminiscent of some early-two-thousands vibes. The softly mixed track has a raw feel, and Pi'erre juxtaposes the upbeat arrangement with some threatening lyrics. "I'm good out here," sings Pi'erre. "I got the shooters on speed dial."
It's unclear whether this cut is a one-off or an indication of a future sonic direction from the Atlanta based producer. For now, it proves that he's capable of some musical diversity, and perhaps even a full fledged album. What do ya'll think? Are you down with Pi'erre's solo music? If not, ask yourself, why are you so mad?
While Pi'erre is most notably known for "Magnolia," he also has five tracks contributed on Playboi Carti's eponymous mixtape, including "Yah Mean" & "dothatshit!"
