I first discovered Drayco McCoy on his film-noir collaboration with Lucki, and subsequently checked out his hazy, horror-esque mixtape Skull Collecta. It didn't take long to see the promise, with his agressive, hedonistic lyrics and a charismatic delivery. Plus, dude hustles, consistently working on new music and dropping gems on what seems like every week.
If you've been following McCoy on social media, you'd know it was his birthday recently. In celebration, the Indianapolis emcee dropped a BLKTYH produced jam called "Wild Child," which is presumably at least somewhat autobiographical. In true McCoy fashion, the chorus highlights the best parts of a sloppy night out, with references to sex, drugs, and liquor.
"Bitch we on the scene blingin' every season we get snow," sings McCoy, going in once the drums kick in. It's certainly a different direction than his material on Skull Collecta, which found McCoy as more of a quiet introvert, fighting to contain his dark thoughts. Now, it feels as if he's simply enjoying a life of endless revelry, pouring dirty sprite on the ladies and throwing down with any potential hater.
Quotable Lyrics
Struggle in sins, drink till uncomfortable in here
I may never get to see my uncle out the pen again
No more penny pinchin', I got bread ho I need benjamins
