According to a report from TMZ, Lil Yachty is being accused of stealing his “Peek A Boo” record with the Migos from a rapper named Memphis Ash, or so he claims.
Memphis Ash released a song called “Pikachu” last year, where he naturally rhymes the word “peek a boo” throughout it. Well apparently lawyers for Ash filed a cease & desist claiming Yachty’s track copies his verse & hook.
Couch K, Yachty’s manager, says he aint buying it, and that “Peek A Boo” is a totally different song, which is tough to argue with.
Memphis’ lawyer, Ben McLane, reportedly gave Yachty 10 days to fork over royalties, and of course that deadline has now passed. Sources told TMZ that Memphis’ next action will be trying to take down “Peek A Boo” from streaming services, but this seems like a long shot all around.
Check out both records (below) and let us know what you think. Did Yachty steal "peek a boo" or is this Memphis Ash guy out his mind?
