New to the site, Summer of ’96 is an experimental jazz and hip-hop/soul duo consisting of singer Lonnee Stevens and producer Antman Wonder. Prepping the release of a new album for this Friday, July 21st called Splendid Things Gone Awry, the talented duo decide to come through and share a new single off it ahead of time called “Not A Rich Man” featuring Detroit wordsmith Royce Da 5’9.
“Today everything is synthesized, but back then [1996] everything was sampled, and it was sampled from soul and jazz records. When we got together we decided we wanted to make a record that sounds classic but using all original stuff,” Stevens reportedly said about the record.

Quotable Lyrics:
All seeing I who didn't involved in a God's hearing
All hearing mind evolve the thought less car stealing
Crime dodging and walking pallbearers, with them boxes
Before I go back to drinking, I'd rather take shots in the spine
