Skepta stole the show with his interlude on Drake's More Life earlier this year, and he's dropped an equally energetic track on his SoundCloud today. "I've got 15 different iPhones / But I am so not phony" he raps on the hook of "Hypocrisy," an eerie, high BPM track that inspires a thrilling and quotable performance from the London rapper. He also shouts out rappers Kendrick Lamar and Wretch 32. If the track sounds familiar, it's because it was premiered by DJ Maximum at Barcelona's Primavera festival earlier this year, according to Fader.
Last year, Skepta dropped his studio album Konnichiwa, Which featured guest appearances from JME, Pharrell, and ASAP Nast. No word on when the follow-up will arrive, but "Hypocrisy" promises great music to come. Stream Konnichiwa here.
Quotable Lyrics:
No, I don't do that conscious rap, but
Man still know about Wretch and Kendrick
Top five niggas, don't get offended
Murdered the beat, no, it ain't attempted
Hypocrisy
