Everything is going right for Nigerian-born, London-raised RAY BLK. She was named BBC's "Sound of 2017" and landed a feature on the new Gorillaz album. Yesterday, she released her new single "Doing Me," produced by Jimmy Napes.
An exercise in self-love, "Doing Me" is about trusting one's fashion intuition and stiff-arming outside pressures and trends. “It’s about being yourself no matter what and not caring about judgment,” BLK told Billboard. “People are going to judge you whether you do bad or good, so you have to do you, regardless.”
Kickstart your summer with "Doing Me."
Quotable Lyrics
Sometimes I wear a v-neck real low
If I'm feeling sexy then expect some skin to show
Maybe wear a turtle neck if I'm feeling cold
My dressing is expression so don't judge me by my clothes
