Sometimes overtly showcasing your influences can be a good thing.
For Brady Watt, the accomplished multi-instrumentalist/producer who recently etched some producer credits onto tracks from Styles P and Talib Kweli‘s The Seven album, his new track "Youth in Revolt" takes the soul normally associated with the likes of Outkast and Cee-Lo Green and has turned it into something he can call his own.
The frenetic instrumentals are matched by the breakneck vocal delivery, which describes the debaucherous activities normally associated with the youth gone wild. Michael Christmas has a nice assist with the rhymes as well. Definitely a gem for your long weekend.
Quotable Lyrics
Y'all bitch try to be what a n**** is now
Memories how, swallow big now,
Dancing on a motherf***in' table right now
