Last Friday gave us quite a few big releases, and the projections are now rolling in.
As HipHopnMore points out, HDD predicts that Gorillaz' comeback album Humanz is set for a big week. The album is expected to move between 95 and 100,000 album equivalents units, 85-90,000 of those coming through in traditional sales. Meanwhile, Mary J. Blige's return Strength Of A Woman is looking to do 67-72,000 in album equivalent units, with 63-68,000 in traditional sales.
Wale's fifth studio album SHiNE, which was released a week earlier than expected, is set to come in with 18-22,000 album equivalent units and 13-15,000 traditional sales. Wale's previous album, The Album About Nothing debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200. It sold 100,000 in its first week. Wale's The Gifted sold 158,000 in 2013. Stay tuned for the official numbers later this week.
Kendrick Lamar's DAMN. just topped the Billboard 200 for a second week with 228,000 album equivalent units. Will Gorillaz knock it off its perch in week 3?
